About Counseling

Tree roots growing over an archway.

Victor Frankl said, "Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom."

My hope in the counseling relationship is to create the space for growth and freedom. People come to counseling for many different reasons. Some are experiencing traumatic events,  grief, life changes or stressful situations and others may be struggling with general feelings of anxiety and depression. Whatever the cause, everyone has times in life when they need help overcoming unwanted obstacles and getting through periods of uncertainty. Counseling can help you effectively manage stressors, learn skills to cope with powerful emotions, and find insight and healing to parts of the self that have felt stuck or too difficult to explore. Together we will examine how to heal and learn from the past, how to live more fully in the present, and how to establish patterns that will impact your future story.

EMDR

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is an evidence-based therapy that helps people heal from trauma and other distressing life experiences. It works by helping the brain reprocess painful memories so they no longer feel as overwhelming, allowing you to move forward with greater peace and resilience.

Biofeedback

Biofeedback is a non-invasive technique that uses real-time information about your body's stress responses to help you learn greater control over physical and emotional reactions. By increasing awareness of how your body responds to stress, biofeedback can help reduce anxiety, improve emotional regulation, and support overall well-being.

Early Trauma Protocol

The Early Trauma Protocol is a specialized therapeutic approach designed to help identify and heal the effects of difficult experiences that occurred early in life, even when they may not be consciously remembered. By addressing these early wounds, clients can experience greater emotional regulation, healthier relationships, and a stronger sense of safety, connection, and self-worth.
